Insomnia Cures

With so many people in the world suffering from insomnia there are many different ideas that people have come up with to get that illusive nights sleep.

Our bodies seem to know that when its light, we should be awake. During the summer months when it is light so early, until late at night, this can cause havoc with our body clocks. Trying to make your house or bedroom darker before you go to bed can help prepare your body and brain for sleep. If there is still light peeping through those curtains, then an eye mask will help eliminate this annoyance. Some people go for the more traditional solution of using blindfolds but the difference is really minimal.

As well as trying to eradicate that light from outside, there of course other sources of light often in bedrooms for example clocks. Likewise the ticking of a clock could be highly detrimental to a good nights sleep.

Avoiding exercise before trying to sleep is a good idea, as this will not encourage your body to want to rest. Likewise playing computer games and driving will also stop your brain from being able to rest and will undoubtedly result in people being unable to sleep when their heads hit the follow.

Many people swear on avoiding different drinks or alternatively swear by having certain drinks before sleep. Obviously caffeine will not help you sleep and alcohol can prevent you from reaching deep sleep.  There are many people that swear by hot milk just before going to bed or maybe herbal teas.

There are course millions of old wife’s tales but many just stick to the old classic of counting sheep!
